Tim McClements has been named head coach of the SMU men's soccer program, Director of Athletics Steve Orsini announced July 23, 2008. McClements becomes the third head coach in the history of one of the most successful programs in the nation.

2008 Football Kickoff Luncheon Set For August 20

7/9/2008 - DALLAS (SMU) - The fourth-annual SMU Football Kickoff Luncheon has been scheduled for August 20th and will be held in the Khmer Pavilion at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, 2201 Stemmons Freeway. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by an interview of SMU Head Coach June Jones by the "Voice of the Mustangs" Rich Phillips.

Morstead continues to garner preseason honors and has already received similar accolades by both Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook and Phil Steele's College Football Preview.

Ackerson Qualifies For U.S. Women's Amateur

7/15/2008 - SAN ANTONIO (SMU) - SMU senior Kate Ackerson qualified for the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur in exciting fashion on Monday, July 14, winning a playoff for the final spot in the tournament field. Playing at The Dominion, Ackerson carded a 77 for 18 holes before beating Texas Longhorn Kelley Louth on the first hole of a playoff to advance to the tournament, which will be played Aug. 4-10 at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
