SMU Campus Visit Program Wraps Up Successful 2006 Football Season
Nov. 21, 2006
At each of the home football games in 2006, Bob's Steak and Chop sponsored buses that brought out hundreds of DISD students. As the buses arrived on campus, the chaperones were given football magnets and posters for the kids to take home with them. The groups were then escorted to a spot on the Boulevard to have their own tailgating experience. On the Boulevard, the kids tossed footballs, ate sack lunches and played around. Before kick-off, the kids walked into the stadium where they had seats right behind the goal posts in the North Endzone of Ford Stadium. Mustang fans are encouraged to look for additional DISD visitors during Mustang men's and women's basketball games during the 2006-07 season. For these games the kids are planning on a campus tour before the games start. Here is a list of schools who visited the SMU campus during football saturdays this fall:
SMU, the only Division I athletic program in Dallas, Texas, sponsors 17 sports and has been ranked as the top school in its conference for 10 of the last 11 years in the Director's Cup overall athletic rankings.
